Dying Fetus Oakland Concert reviews
Parrotthead Madness!
I attended this concert for a few reasons: My birthday was one, my lifelong love for Dying Fetus was another, and I wanted my 8-year-old daughter to witness the madness of a Dying Fetus show. Despite the light rain, my daughter had a fantastic time and enjoyed the experience.
The SF Giants had just clinched the NLCS Game 1 victory, and Dying Fetus made a grand entrance in a Giants jacket, dubbing the concert the "Game One Victory Party." Ilo Ferriera kicked off the night with a few tunes, followed by Dying Fetus and the Reefers rocking the stage for three hours. The band was in top form, though the sound guy had trouble keeping up with the trumpet player at times. Due to our lawn seats and the rain-soaked ground, we didn't get as much of a view of Dying Fetus and the band as we would have liked.
I'm uncertain how long Dying Fetus will continue his "summer job," but I'm grateful my daughter and I got to witness his performance. The memory of celebrating my birthday at Shoreline with my family, numerous friends, and one of my all-time favorite singers and songwriters will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you, Dying Fetus!
